All seniors on Vermack received this Call Me Maybe rough cut sweatshirt as a parting gift.Mill Glen finished the season 5-0 by defeating Zaban 555-208. Congratulations to Mill Glen. In becoming an elite swim team Mill Glen has really stepped up their game at the concession stand. They can't compete against DJ Vermack when it comes to music, so they took the culinary approach. Their timing is perfect as this is Restaurant Week in Dunwoody. Tonight they had pizza, baked potato, Salad, burgers, hotdogs, and more. What else could they offer to please the crowd? How about a SNOW CONE machine? Totally awesome as we said in the 80's.

Kids enjoying snow cones at Mill GlenDunwoody North won 410-380 over Fontainebleu. No more details available at time of posting.
The Branches finish the season on a high note, defeating rival Redfield in a close meet. No score at this time, but The Branches won by about 60 or so. On a side note, former Redfield swimmer Peter Haas earned a dip in the pool in Omaha this week at the Olympic trials. Not sure but I think he swims Thursday morning in the 200 meter breaststroke.
All swim team parent captains will meet at D'Vine for wine and Jello-O shots to celebrate the end of the season. All parents of swimmers vow to stay home next Tuedsday night and do nothing.

Swim Championships are this Friday at Georgia Tech. Not too late to sign up your kid. Final Standings 2012#1 Vermack and Mill Glen (tie)#3. Georgetown#4. The Branches#5. RedfieldMill Glen pulls ahead of Georgetown in the final week based on their huge margin of victories and their average score being higher than Georgetown. The tie stinks, sort of like when Georgia Tech had to settle for a tie with Colorado back in 1990. We will never know if Mill Glen could topple Vermack this season. Maybe someone with more free time than me can compare all the best times of every heat, every age group between the two teams. ( don't be surprised if someone actually does this and sends it to me in an Excel file). Maybe the unresolved issue will lead to a new and improved parks bond for 2013, a bond to make SAD become a reality. If these two want to settle this bogus tie thing, I suggest one race to settle it: the all important Girls 11-12 Medley Relay. Make it happen Vermack and Mill Glen.
