The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas is based on the true story of the Chicken Ranch, one of the better pleasure palaces in all of Texas, run by its proprietress, Miss Mona Stangley. Protected by a friendly sheriff, Ed Earl Dodd, and frequented by politicians, football teams and others, the Chicken Ranch thrived in the small town of Gilbert, TX until a crusading TV personality from Houston, Melvin P. Thorpe, whips up public outrage forcing it to shut its doors forever. Come on out to see this rip roarin', knee slappin', foot stompin' musical at OnStage Atlanta this summer.
